Important Characteristics of a Successful Entrepreneur

In starting your own business, you must be willing to operate, take risk, accept burn-outs and take several fall downs until you achieve your success. Among the critical characteristics of a successful entrepreneur are the following:

  1. Dream – Every entrepreneur have a vision of what they could be and what they could achieve in the future. And, entrepreneurs have the ability to implement their dreams. They dream crazy and think crazy.
  2. Decisiveness – Entrepreneurs make their decisions swiftly. Their swiftness is the key factor to their success. They make risks and accept it. They believe that, “the higher the risk, the higher the return”. Making decisions swiftly is not an easy task. When you decide, you take risk.
  3. Doers – Entrepreneurs don’t just speak and decide. Once they have make decisions, planned it and analyze it, they implement it as quickly as possible. It is not the decision that makes them but it’s the result that pushes them.
  4. Determination – Entrepreneurs stood up no matter what happen, even with a hundred of downfalls they make alternatives, plan and implement their decisions with total commitment. Entrepreneurs don’t give up, even when confronted by obstacles that seem insurmountable. “It’s not how many times you fall, but it’s how many times you stand”.
  5. Dedication – Entrepreneurs are focused and committed on what they are doing. They don’t procrastinate. Someone with dedication finishes what they’ve started. They work tirelessly, sacrifice countless things and strive to get their business off the ground.
  6. Devotion – Entrepreneurs love what they do. It is the love that sustains them when the going gets tough. It’s the love and passion of their products that makes them effective at selling it. It is love that makes them committed, that drives them to their dreams, and that makes them implement their decisions.
  7. Details – Details complete and make a starting business grow. The entrepreneur must be on top of the critical details – about their market and market condition.
  8. Destiny – Entrepreneurs believe that they control their own destiny rather be controlled by an employer. They always wanted to make their own, decide for themselves and implement their own decisions. They assume destiny comes from them and not from anybody.
  9. Dollars – Getting rich is not the prime motivator of entrepreneurs. Money is more a measure of success. They believe that if they are successful reward will come at their doors.
  10. Distribute – Entrepreneurs don’t just keep the success and ownership to themselves, the key factor that will make them successful is to keep well their team members. They distribute the ownership of their businesses with key employees who are critical to the success of the business. As they say, no man is an island. Don’t be so selfish that you think you’re the only one who could make your business successful. Being successful means being with few critical individual around you.
