Contextual Advertising Programs for Online Publishers

I was in a hunt for good Contextual Advertising Programs which may be useful for web publishers especially blog owners. Contextual advertising are marketing programs which typically inserts snippets of code and are placed on sections of a Web page. This code snippets figures out what the page is all about, and serves appropriate advertisement from advertisers. Revenue is normally split between the publisher or the site owner and advertising program.

Below are Programs I’ve listed with a basic review:

Google Adsense – is one of the most popular advertising programs on the net used by most publishers, blog owners and other online money maker. Probably best when your website is starting to grow and get huge amounts of traffic.  Google adsense is vey easy to setup, high paying, and provides highly targeted relevant ads, though users may get banned without notice if found cheating. It has a minimum payout of $100 dollars and payments are released through cheque or western union. If you are serious about making money online, you should at least give this a try.

Bidvertiser – is another very popular advertising program although haven’t used it myself yet. Some say it is quite a good alternative to Google Adsense although ads aren’t targeted too well. Minimum payout through Paypal is as low as $10.

AdBrite – also another popular advertising program and most banned adsense publishers shifts to it if not thru BidAdvertiser. Some popular sites who uses this program includes friendster, gawker and The minimum payout is $20.

I’ve found a good AdBrite Review at wolf-howl thanks to graywolf SEO Blog. You may follow that link for a more detailed review about AdBrite.

Yahoo! Publishers Network (YPN) – this is one of the advertising programs I wanted to try next to google. Although I heard rumuors that YPN doesn’t serve relevant ads as well as Adsense, and is not open to Philippine based websites.
