I recently spoke with a woman who only wanted to be referred to as Aunt Melba and she gave me her interpretation on how to differentiate the good ways to make money online from the not so good ways to make money online. What’s even more amazing is that she has never tried to make money online but she knows good business sense applies to all businesses.

Until she retired a few years back, Aunt Melba had enjoyed a very lucrative career in offline advertising and marketing for a Madison Ave. type company that marketed everything from cereal to diapers. She sees the opportunity to make money online as just as extension of what was done for a long time through television.

Now in this information age the playing field has been leveled somewhat to include everyone that wants to try their hand at trying to make some easy money online fast. Aunt Melba feels that dreams are being sold to people but not necessarily effective ways to make money online.

The mere mention of making easy or fast money online causes Aunt Melba to chuckle a little. She says that people used to say the same thing about her job years ago. If it’s really that easy and fast- how come everybody on the planet isn’t on to it?

Usually the things that are fast and easy means that it’ll be fast and easy for you to dump a ton of cash into before you realize what is wrong. In actuality, people who do make money online work their fingers to the bone or pay someone else to and just want you to think it’s easy so they can look like geniuses or gurus.

I asked her about what she thought of these guys who sold doing online surveys as a viable way to consistently make money online. She asked me about my familiarity with such businesses and I told her that I had done work for several of these organizations and I didn’t really make any money. She said that that practice was insane and I had just answered my own question.

If you keep doing things that show no progress, why keep doing them? You should only be doing things that show tangible progression that you can see. Aunt Melba enthusiastically said that the key to being successful making money online boils down to three factors.

Aunt Melba’s 3 things were: Having a System- Setting Goals-Do Something Each Day

For any online business opportunity or offline business situation you must have a system to follow. Kind of like an assembly line for making cars or bikes. What ever online money making opportunity should offer this way of doing things in a systematic and consistent way.

Goals consist of having goals for yourself as well as goals that are targeted by the parent company. What do you want your online business to look like in 3, 6, 9 months? Is this a hobby or a real money making online business?

Doing something each day to further your business is guaranteed to be advantageous. You have to treat this with the consistency of a brick and mortar business- show up everyday and do some work. Being lazy about your business is the fastest way to no longer have

So whether you’re experienced with making money online or new to the game, you should be involved in an online business that will allow you to profit from different systems, accomplish concurrent goals, and implement some type of everyday action to help your new online money making business grow.
